Thank you sir. Duely downloaded and replicated for further distribution.

All of them. Afraid of giving anyone an equal playing field, straight afraid of women. Hold everyone down, insecure little men.

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 64 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The pettyness of all this shit is what's really shocking...

[–] Zer0_F0x@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago

I'm not shocked at all. They literally said exactly what they were going to do and now they are doing it.

Learn to expect the most stupid and evil outcome of any situation from now on and preemptively fight to secure what you deem important in whatever way you can.

[–] Alfredolin@sopuli.xyz 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This anti-DEI measures are completely crazy.

[–] absentbird@lemm.ee 4 points 1 day ago

Anti-DEI is just a newfangled way of saying white men only.

If we survive this, we really should switch to a matriarchal society.

[–] Probius@sopuli.xyz 35 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'd love to live in a society where no particular gender held most positions of power or had more legislative influence.

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 20 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Sure, but if we HAD to have a gender in charge, I'd prefer women.

[–] Probius@sopuli.xyz 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

And after 200 years of matriarchy, people would be saying that women are evil and we should have a patriarchy. Whoever holds the power always ends up oppressing whoever doesn't.

And a break! Patriarchy hurts everyone.

[–] Misseuse@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You can have a little patriarchy on the full moon, as a treat

I'm not against the idea at all, but there are pletny of women in power at the federal level that are absolute dogshit as well.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

The problem is too many won't go for it. I recently met a guy who completely voted against his own best interests just because Kamala was born with a vagina instead of a penis. He admitted it freely, so he knowingly voted for the people who want to make people like him slaves again. It's absolutely mind boggling.

[–] spacecadet@lemm.ee 7 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Statistically, women leaders start more wars than men, so a matriarchal society signs us up for more war. The group statistically likely to start less wars is former soldiers, probably because they know the horrors.

Maybe leadership is more β€œcontent of character” than a gender issue

Women being leaders in a patriarchal society will probably behave like leaders in a patriarchal society.

Yes, merit is overrated. We should just get more of Giorgia Meloni, Alice Weidel and Marine Le Pen. Clearly Europe is on the right track...

If you think this is bad, imagine what it portends for women astronauts.

[–] ArchmageAzor@lemmy.world 27 points 2 days ago (1 children)

NASA is going down the drain under the new regime. If you're interested in space exploration, shift your gaze over to the ESA or CNSA.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

What will happen to the Artemis program? :(

[–] captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Same thing that was always going to happen to it: It's not gonna fly. It's been canceled or clean sheet restarted at least once by every administration since inception, and frankly that rope has been pretty thoroughly pissed up.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Gods dammit, and after Artemis I was so succesful! I was looking forward to Artemis II... And seeing humans once again on the moon in my lifetime.

I won't get it. Mars is, resource poor. Don't get me wrong; having humanity set foot on another planet would be an amazing achievement, but... Since everything is so profit-driven, why not support a return to the moon!?

There's potentially Helium 3 up there. And the moon has a bunch of surface-minerals.

[–] Vanth@reddthat.com 67 points 2 days ago (7 children)

What's next? Rename the Artemis program because we can't be flying to the moon under some lady name? Probably change it to Ares, god of war and courage. That's a very manly man name, just as the good lords Jesus and Trump intended.

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 22 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The moon program in the 1960s was originally called Artemis and got renamed to Apollo for the same reasoning.

So it'll probably get renamed to Apollo 2.

The amount of puss-outs to the fat orange is absolutely boggling

[–] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 27 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Soon they will just be pushing women down stairs just for fun. Such MAGAts.

[–] Erasmus@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Naw that might cause miscarriages, can’t be having that!

[–] GaMEChld@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

I actually think that's their preferred method of abortion. That way they can really get out all the anger in one go.

[–] Wutchilli@feddit.org 54 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Where can i read them now? Did anybody downloaded those comics and is willing to share them?

[–] GrumpyDuckling@sh.itjust.works 54 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I have both pdf issues in english and spanish and the audiobook that they made for issue 1 and the .apk for the android app (idk how to get ios apps). I don't know what to do with them yet. The website is available on internet archive, you can read both issues on there. For some reason issue 2 eng/sp .pdf were still on the nasa site if you have the direct link.

Edit: Uploaded pdf to libgen (usr:genesis pw:upload) idk why it does that, they should get indexed on the other sites eventually.

I'm curious: the USA wants to dominate the final frontier, how will they ensure a civilization can thrive without woman in those new settlements?

Anyways, the idea is horrific and stupid, let's hope the US implodes.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

I always remember the question for Bill Gates were someone asked him if the Middle East will ever catch up with the rest of the world technology wise. And his answer was basically "no" because you shut out half of your population, holding women down.

[–] Soleos@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

They don't want no women, they want subservient women. Think Handmaid's Tale in space.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (4 children)

The far right morons and the cowards enabling them are fucking things up for its own sake. They're not thinking ahead. They're not actually even thinking, they're just reacting to imaginary shit.

They aren't the USA, they're the parasites the USA is infected with.

Keith’s 23 March update: within a few hours after this was posted (over a weekend) A NASA YouTube video and an official NASA photo of two female astronauts were pulled offline. Both things had been online for several years. This is not the first time this has happened. Apparently NASA DEI Sanitation Squad is using my postings to help them delete things. Details below.

So has anybody saved the YouTube video?

So, I'm curious if they're just bowing to trump in extreme desperation to keep federal funding, otherwise they're out of a job? Or, do they have some maga right wingers in leadership at NASA?

My guess and hope is the former. If true, maybe they have to come off as spineless just to keep being funded. I dunno, just speculating.

[–] Waldelfe@feddit.org 12 points 2 days ago

My guess is a bit of both. As a woman who's spent some time working in IT, there are still more than enough men who are pissed at having to include women and would jump at the opportunity to get them out of the door or degrade them as soon as possible. Give them an opportunity like "Oh no, now we have to take those women-related things down. Just in case, gotta keep our funding. Too bad, so sad." and they'll jump on it.

[–] Bloomcole@lemm.ee 5 points 2 days ago

NASA is always, and in the first place a military organisation in service of the US regime.
