Israeli officials have signaled they do not intend to relinquish this territory. These areas, where the military has deployed, are considered “no-go zones” and Palestinians risk being shot if they approach.

So is this like .. concentrating.. the people into a smaller area, like uh .. camp?

[–] [email protected] 39 points 2 months ago

It basically already was, they're just making it smaller.

This is closer to just standard imperialism, which Hitler also did. Evil? Yes, but a different kind of evil.

Also I think Israel literally has a concentration camp, so if you want to make that comparison, it's right there.

Imperialism is horribly evil and it deserves to be called out by name. A part of the imperialist process is genocide, which is what we're seeing here.

This is more like American style genocidal manifest destiny or Nazi lebensraum.

Gaza has been categorized as the world’s largest concentration camp by holocaust experts already. So yes, they do have a concentration camp, it’s called the Gaza Strip.

Israel being Israel. They've been doing this since their inception. We need strong international sanctions against Israel. We need to stop this slow moving genocide.

[–] [email protected] 43 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It's not slow moving anymore; you're looking at a full-blown genocide here.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 2 months ago

We're looking at children death camps at this point

And against the US too honestly. I say this as a US citizen. Sanction us until we stop bombing Yemen and supplying arms.

[–] [email protected] 63 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I hate this so much, helplessly watching a people getting destroyed in real time.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 months ago

And even worse, our own governments supporting it and making us complicit

[–] [email protected] 24 points 2 months ago

It's not even an argument anymore it's a circlejerk.

And you'll keep hearing it for actually assisting the fasist pro-genocide candidate.

I'm happy she lost, but I'm also sad that Trump won. Why should our choice be between to pro-genocide candidates?

Maybe the next time the Dems should try something new and run a candidate that campaigns on what the voters want.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 months ago (5 children)

One of those two was going to win. That's how this shit works, so instead of voting for genocide, you voted for genocide and for your list of rights to get shorter on a monthly basis. The worst part was that you saw all the signs and you still did it and are willing to brag that you're partially responsible for not making the obviously better call.

We can do third party's over 1/3 of the government when we have third partys everywhere else and it's actually attainable, until then, you're doing this.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You can't have genocide without your list of rights getting shorter on a monthly basis that's not how that works. It was always a question of when America's tab would come back to haunt it, not if. You want to keep your rights? Then better oppose genocide even when it's your guy doing it.

Yeah, that is how it works. I don't fight against genocide because I think I'm going to win, I fight against genocide because I think it's evil. You may be OK with genocide, but I'm not.

Additionally, genocide is just 1 out of ~50 other things that I'm against, that Harris stood for. Why should I vote for a candidate that's proud to stand with the Cheneys? Or a candidate that wants to continue to be a "leathal fighting force"? Why should I vote for a candidate that thought bombing children was OK? Or a candidate that proudly stood behind a rapist?

Yes, I proudly stand against genocide, and all of those other things. Maybe the real issue is that the Democrats shouldn't run in favor of them.

You mean the administration whom the Israeli government praised this week for never demanding a ceasefire?

And 6 months ago, you were arguing that we have to keep arming Israel because they're such an important ally to the US. Why aren't you saying that anymore?

they're setting up several Bantustan-like areas just like they did on the West Bank

[–] [email protected] 19 points 2 months ago

Just like they did to all of Palestine.

Talk about weasel words, holy shit 💀

Local man brings gun to the bank, limiting the clerk to half of their blood supply.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm curious to know why they chose to stop where they did. Is it a matter of "This is what we reckon we can hold"? Or is it "These areas are the most valuable so we want those"? Or "This is how much we reckon we can take before someone declares war"?

Gaza isn't even contiguous anymore. Where there was one territory, there are effectively now four. One big one, one small, one very small, one tiny. I can't imagine the Israelis are going to allow people to move from one territory to the other so why did they split it up like that?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (3 children)

They can starve the population and take the area anyway so why continue fighting and gaining more and more bad press and investigation. Instead they'll spend that time covering up their crimes and hiding the people they would have a hard time protecting for the moment.
