the cashew calling the macadamia nuts

[–] [email protected] 42 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is it sad that I had to double check it wasn't The Onion?

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 week ago

haven't you heard? the Onion has given up on satire, now they're just reporting the news.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

I like the expression, but cashews are not nuts.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

unripe cashews calling the unripe mangos.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

...Are cashews not not nuts?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

(that's the joke.... they're both nuts...)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

TIL, cashews do, actually, have a shell!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Technically, cashew's are drupes... I had to look it up. They're used as nuts culinarilly, so whatever.

Apparently, they're the dangly bits hanging from a false-fruit known as a "cashew apple"

(yeah. um. I'm not going to be getting that image out of my head any time soon. look it up if you want.)

24 hours he said. He could end the war in 24 hours. All he has to do is talk tough and Putin would bow to his flabby pasty white biceps! Anyone who doesn't recognize this as 100% pure bullshit should pull their head out of Trump's fat ass and have their it examined.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I think we are getting close to the 24 hours that war will end in.

Trump is going to clearly keep his word again, MAGA, MAGA, MAGA!

Dude has had his mouth permanently attached to Putin's crotch for close to a decade. This is either him trying to save face or straight up bullshit.

[–] [email protected] 50 points 1 week ago

Eh, a few days from now Trump will say something like "I had an amazing call with Putin. He is a great guy, Ukraine should surrender now". Dude can't remember what he said yesterday.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 week ago

Over a decade. I can remember him during the bush administration praising him.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

This just is Trump's 'negotiation' methodology.

Its either:

X is great, they're the best, nobody was ever like X, absolutely tremendous.

or

X is gonna do what we want, they have no choice, we'll make things very painful for them if they don't.

or

X has gone absolutely crazy, just awful, the most terrible things that have been done in terms bad things, they must pay!

... dementia riddled mob boss tactics.

The rhetoric is always 110%, but the underlying tactic just flips around like a weather vane in a hurricane... because Trump literally is not capable of long term, strategic thinking.

He's just good at bullying people.

tl:dr; Trump is almost always bullshitting and saving face at the same time, because he doesn't understand or believe in anything other than the appearance of wealth and power.

He is the manifestation of the id of the American ruling class, a ravenous, screaming toddler that only wants MORE, with none of the carefully crafted corpo-chic lingo that makes them seem intelligent and respectable.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He's been in the Russians pockets since the '80s

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Evidence is mounting.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

He got what he wanted. He probably got intelligence that either Putin is getting out of power one way or another.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

Think Wrestlemania dialog. Theatrics. All of it.

[–] Deathray5 2 points 1 week ago

He is utterly neurotic, for good and for bad

[–] [email protected] 65 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"he's no longer the sensitive man and caring lover that I used to know"

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

Have they considered couples counseling?

[–] [email protected] 57 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is what Trump does: the wildest takes non-stop, beyond of what anyone considers decent, but if the polls clearly show that he's falling out of favor, he's always ready to make a U-turn, and brag about it.

Fuck this guy. I'm glad he did in this case, but this is no way to run a country. Also, he's still shitting on Zelensky.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Both people named in the headline are shits.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Putin is a lot worse than Trump though. I can somehow imagine a future where the right person talks to Trump and convinces him to support Ukraine in a real way.

I don't see any other way out of this mess for Putin except his death. Best option would be some sort of a revolution.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

💯

However, my statement still stands. Even though one is worse than the other, does not mean that the less shit person is not shit. They're both assholes who wants to shit on every dick and pussy out there (ref Team America).

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 week ago

So is the great clown Krasnow the Orange.

[–] [email protected] 42 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"Look at this guy. He's CRAZY!" - Crazy person.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah there's something very ironic about this quote:

"I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him," Trump said.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Sounds like business went sour. Perhaps Trump thinks he's invulnerable to a polonium doorknob now he's President so he's gonna take some cheap shots because his peace deal didn't go his way

[–] [email protected] 31 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Putin will lecture him and he'll change his mind within a week at most.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Planned by Putin I’m sure

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Quite possible, but to date it seems to be two steps forward and one step back. So then we're a few weeks from Trump declaring his support for Ukraine.

I think his unrealistic 24 hour plan was to give putin what he thought he wanted. Eg all the territory he's captured so far and assurances against nato action/withdrawal of some western personnel at nato border country bases. You know putin's public story.

He just didn't know putin's real objective. Maybe now he's getting a bit of an idea. He's too simplistic to fathom that there could have been an ulterior motive.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Your mistake here is assuming that this level of thought is possible by trump. There's no 4d chess here. He's just being played for an idiot cause that's what he is.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I guess Trump is playing 0.4d chess, i.e. chess on a linear board that is 0.4 times as long in its single dimension as a regular chess board (3 tiles), on that kind of board it does look like winning is easy obviously.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

It is 0.4d chess, and trump only has a knight which he failed to realize is useless in one dimension.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 week ago

None of this would have happened if he were president..."Biden drive putin crazi, monster!"

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago

It’s projection again? I’m surprised he’s shit taking daddy.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

Ah, projecting again...

Sanction, trade embargoes, and military aid to save human lives speak louder than whining on social media. Whining on social media costs lives.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why I have to believe him? He lies all day long, even the deal he mad with UK is a lie!
This playbook has become nothing but words of nothing.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

I mean I don’t need to believe him to know vlad is an insane mother fucker with hopes of colonizing large swaths of Europe and maybe even elsewhere

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Takes one to know one!
