Why is one bullet point just "Uses Drugs"?

[–] [email protected] 97 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Took me a second too, but it's supposed to be a list of descriptors of the woman in the picture. A better way to form it would be "She uses drugs, but she is also a wife, a coworker, and a grandmother." with the last three as bullet points.

It's marginally less confusing when you see the whole series instead of just this one grandmother poster. Each one has a list of bullets describing a person, with the one thing they all have in common being "Uses drugs".

Is that really all they could come up with is marriage and employment status? FFS, these are people, way to miss the assignment.

Goes to church every Sunday

loves her grandkids

Uses drugs

Retired CNA

That's how we often identify others

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago

How I introduce myself as well. “Hello! Man. Father. Uses drugs. Retired bus driver.”

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 days ago

That makes so much more fucking sense, thank you lol

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Phew, thank you

Because someone didn't bother to read what ChatGPT spat out.

[–] [email protected] 34 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This is one of those "existed way before chatgpt" things

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

No way! You must be a paleontologist!

[–] [email protected] 72 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Translation: “respectable property-owning white boomers also use drugs, and shouldn’t be lumped in with hippies, gangbangers and morally degenerate hedonists”

[–] [email protected] 24 points 2 days ago

As a morally degenerate hippie adjacent criminal, i really support not being lumped in wuth those people.

Is the stigma around incorrect use of bullet points? I'd rather keep that one going.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Right, like why is there a tiny bullet point sitting on the floor after “Stop stigma”?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

Common misconception, that's actually a half-colon (not to be confused with semicolons or colon type-c)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Whoever made it probably learned to shoot from a cop.

Wild seeing city of Durham ad on lemmy. We’ve made the big time!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Actually this is Durham region. A county near Toronto.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sorry that’s what I meant. Region, city same thing. It’s all Oshawa.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

Ahh ok. There is actually a Durham City in the USA that often gets confused with Durham Region on the internet. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durham,_North_Carolina

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I like Durham Region, I go to visit and everyone's wives and grandmothers are on drugs.

And that's just alright by me

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

So… are we asking for a world with zero stigma? Like against jay walking, shoplifting, infidelity?

I like graffiti but I don’t want is EVERYWHERE?

Why she look like the racist mom from Hotel Transylvania 2?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

It's for opiates, now I'm imagining grandma sitting on her knitting chair shooting up heroin with her group.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

Stigma, please.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

So my wife and her mum got the good stuff. Got it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

Is this real? It has been twenty years since I moved away from Durham region but this dumpster fire of an ad does not surprise me at all.
