/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Bridgecrew: SIR!!!! The main computer is malfunctioning and its running out of storage space!!!! Life support is going offline!!

[–] [email protected] 35 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Barclay: I can fix this. Computer, delete holodeck program "planet of troi".
Riker: computer, disregard that order!

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

WHO'S BEEN SAVING HOLODECK PROGRAMS TO THEIR HOME DIRECTORY AGAIN?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You're supposed to save them to your Home drive because that can be moved around. It's people who save them to C: that causes problems

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Yeah, I know that it makes perfect sense for them to be on a user's home directory.

I said that because it was a flashback to work, where people were constantly filling the "home" drive with data that should be stored in the work/project directories. Regular emails begging people not to save data to their home directories. But that data should be accessible to others - it's not personal, like most holodeck programs would be.

Last year, they added a some insane amount of space (dozens of terabytes IIRC) to address space limitations...a few months later, they were down to less than a terabyte free. People just do not program efficiently and do not clean up their messes.

Now you have me trying to remember if we ever see her feet in the show. Darn you, Stamets.

Maybe in the Klingon martial arts episode?

Hey now, I'm the one cursed with this knowledge. How do you think I feel?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm guessing horny because there's feet

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nah, I lack that Tarantino-esque fetish. 40's style Ezri or Kira, on the other hand...

Cheese called, something about feeling jealous? You in trouble now... 🙀

dunno for some reason I think janeway and troi would get along great.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Janeways bipolar ass would break trois mind

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

She might enjoy a change from the calm rationality she's got on the Enterprise.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

I wouldn't really call it calm rationality when she was mentally raped like once a week

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There is a suspiciously gratuitous close up when somebody is giving her a foot rub at some point in TNG.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Must have been a Rick Berman episode or something.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

IIRC, that was early TNG, so Gene was still in charge.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

That totally tracks. Berman was misogynistic for sure, but between them Gene was the real horndog.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

I'm sure he was behind that time her and Crusher worked out

Computer, generate eight-foot-tall versions of girlfriend, reprogrammed with severe maternal instincts.

Reprogram then to think that sitting on my face is taking care of me.

Additionally, add to them an extreme need to pee while sitting, completely unskipable.

Generate goggles for me and Increase my olfactory receptors sensitivity by a factor of 5000%

Increase their erogenous areas sensitivity by a factor of 10000% as well

Disengage ALL safety protocols.

Execute and run program.

oh for fucks sake, PIERCE BROSNAN WAS IN THIS?!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

What's more, King denounces this film for its butchering of his story. There's a great Rifftrax of this movie.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

TBH, King isn't exactly the opinion to behold on film adaptations, he hated the shining and the stuff he directed has been said to be dogshit.

Although lawnmowerman is a fucking dumpster fire.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Cocaine abuse'll do that. Regardless, the movie is brilliantly bad. Not to mention this wasn't enough to stop Brosnan's becoming James Bond in that character's first post Cold-War role, Goldeneye.

Regardless, the movie is brilliantly bad.

absolutely

Not to mention this wasn’t enough to stop Brosnan’s becoming James Bond in that character’s first post Cold-War role, Goldeneye.

Fucking hell, he escaped by the skin of his teeth. thanks for this trivia.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No problem. To be fair, that disaster on film didn't stop lead Jeff Fahey either. Mostly turned him toward more B-films like Darkman III: Die Darkman Die and Planet Terror.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

I’m just champing at the bit for the MST3K episodes of these now

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I hope that's the 17th file and not something creepier.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

1 foot, 7 toes. What kinda foot fetish you gots?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

oh man his holo-addiction is out of control!
