It feels like 30% of Americans will consistently give whatever they think the wrong answer is. In US polling, 70% is basically everyone.

great username btw. totally relevant for this community.

I've been using this handle for the last like seven years, and I'm genuinely delighted that it's finally funny

Don’t you think you should be Fully_Adjusted by now?

Isn't that Brian Thompson's username now?

30% of Americans think chocolate milk comes from brown cows. There are a lot of absolute morons out there.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago (3 children)

The study you're presumably referencing actually is said to quote it at 7%. So great news, there are about a quarter as many morons as you thought!

The other great news is that, the Innovation Center For US Dairy (the source of our famous chocolate milk study) wasn't done asking and answering serious journalistic questions!

Thanks for bringing this group to my attention. Their rigorous and thoughtful work is crucial because as we all know, if the questions are insane, the answers don't matter.

I love that cows eat chocolate because it’s good for them. That made my day. I’ll try to forget about the whole industrial farming nightmare behind it though…

Omg this hurts. My mom legit thought this until she married my dad and they went out on a trip to the country together and he had to set her straight. Like she was in her 20s when she learned that’s not how it works.

To be fair, my parents were city people.

70% of people didn't vote for democracy so Trump will rule again.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

"Democracy is when you vote for my guy or else. Change the voting system so you can vote for your guy but still have your vote count against bad guy? FUCK YOU!"

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Valid complaint but bad framing. It's not in the interests of the two parties to change the voting system, so they're never going to make it an option. You want that, you'll have to stop asking politely.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

It's a piece of paper. If everyone on Tiktok posts themselves writing a third party candidate, they would all do it.

Personally, I believe most of the country doesn't want a better leader and everyone just blames the two party system out of convenience.

Given that's what the killer was explicitly pointing out with the engraved bullets...WTF are the other 30% thinking

[–] [email protected] 43 points 2 months ago (1 children)

My guess is a coin toss between peoples whos mental process went "murder bad, end process" or people who would happily take a turn driving the orphan crushing machine.

In either case, morons... Nuanced opinions are allowed, and that seems where the majority has landed, if they are a bit inconsistent.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

or people who ~~would happily~~ are totally due to take a turn driving the orphan crushing machine.

(It’s not like a population would work poverty wages for decades if there weren’t a decent chance of driving a little orphan crushing)

Don't kill thousands of people next time bud.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Thousands is probably low number.

We are looking at multipliers of that, with people refused insurance who will die years from now because of lack of treatment.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago

The grift that keeps on taking

[–] [email protected] 43 points 2 months ago (2 children)

You can't have CEO murder without a CEO. It takes two to tango, as they say. You saw what his AI denial system was doing, and walking down the street alone at that time of day. I'm not saying he was asking for it, but he could have taken reasonable precautions likenot making sociopathic business decisions.

Besides, if it's a legitimate assassination the Executive Suite has ways to try and shut that whole thing down using ethics. But let's assume maybe that didn't work or something in this case. I think there should be some sort of punishment, but the punishment should be on the unregulated inhuman greed our healthcare system has become.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Did you see what he was wearing? You can’t just walk around dressed like a CEO and expect not to get shot. Nobody dresses like that unless they want attention from assassins.

How do the cops phrase it when they talk about black people they randomly accidentally murder?

"Authorities say the suspect, one Brian Thompson, was not currently under indictments for murder or fraud, and it is not known when or if he stopped beating his wife or engaged in gangbanging and drug distribution. They stress that the suspect is not currently known to be a pedophile, and that he is innocent untill proven guilty."

If we can harp on women for deserving to be raped based on their attire we can totally harp on CEOs deserving to get murdered based on their sociopathic behavior.

I blame CEO murder on CEO.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 months ago
[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm not a billionaire CEO and I don't feel threatened.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago

I feel safer

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 months ago

The other 30% don't know but think it definitely wasn't Luigi since they were with him that night.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

0.2% blamed Luigi out of self preservation.

30.8% responded "boots taste yummy"

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago

And only 14% think it had no influence. Given that group is going to contain the folk who think all deaths are god's will or that the universe is acausal that isn't too bad. Could be lower, but not bad.
