Summary

Elon Musk lashed out online Monday as Tesla stock plunged over 15%, wiping out its post-election rally and shedding 50% of its value since December.

Investors worried about market declines, recession fears, and Tesla's growing controversy after Musk's far-right rhetoric and mass government layoffs.

Musk falsely claimed Democratic donors funded anti-Tesla protests and linked critics to Jeffrey Epstein. He amplified conspiracy theories blaming arson attacks on Democrats.

Despite his efforts, Tesla's collapse cost Musk $23 billion in a single day.

Elon: Does a Nazi salute then proceeds to do Nazi stuff within the confines of the U.S. government.

Also Elon: Why is everyone picking on me?

Lol he's so panicked he's had to order Trump to send a tweet to try to convince right wingers to buy EVs now.

[–] [email protected] 99 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How do you illegally boycott something? I know he’s a fucking moron but this is one of the stupidest things he’s ever said

[–] [email protected] 53 points 1 week ago (5 children)

In Texas, if you have a contract with the state or a school district, you have to sign a contract where you agree not to "boycott israel" whatever that means. So I guess if one was to "boycott israel" while taking money from the state of Texas, that could be considered an illegal boycott.

I would love an explanation of how the boycott against Tesla is illegal.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Right? What's he gonna do? Force us to buy Teslas with no money?

Especially considering the Anheiser Busch (or however it's spelled) boycot over someone else's gender identity.

The ones yelling "Snowflake!!11" for a decade turned out to be crybabies. Who woulda thunk.

"L'état, c'est moi," so anything he doesn't like is illegal.

[–] [email protected] 37 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

So we can add "illegal" to the list of words Trump uses but doesn't know the meaning of.

Man who doesn't drive buys fascist car to show solidarity with worlds richest man.

[–] [email protected] 32 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Like, what in the actual fuck. How is it illegal to boycott Tesla? But it wasn't illegal when all the rednecks wanted to boycott bud-light for having a pro gay add? This clown is a fucking joke.

LOL! Remember when conservatives were blocking Tesla chargers with their lifted trucks? The vast majority of conservatives who can afford EVs don't want them anyway because it doesn't make "vroom, vroom" sounds.

"anything I don't like is a Democrat."

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 week ago (4 children)

"There's an investigation under way to find those responsible for my lost profits!"

$20 he'll demand arrest warrets or deportation of anyone not thinking about buying a tesla

JFC I'd actually appreciate the maga version of the Democrats.

These fictional Democrats are organized, well funded, cohesive and seem to have a great long term strategy for ruining republicans. With an organization like that you'd think that they would be in control of the government?

The amount of raw, undiluted satisfaction that would come from watching Musk's fortune disappear would probably be enough to tide me over for the rest of the Trump presidency. I could be sent to a concentration camp slaving away somewhere manufacturing MAGA merch, and I'd still have a smile on my face knowing Elon went broke.

[–] [email protected] 96 points 1 week ago

"My actions are directly linked to tanking my company, so I've decided to double down on being a nazi."

Prime example of how the rich are in their positions because of sheer genius and literally nothing else.

[–] [email protected] 80 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I'll give credit where it's due. The memes, the 'swasticar' stuff - it worked. The negative bias isnt just some lefties, it's the drivers themselves feeling it. That stigma is not about to go away, so as long as Musk's name is attached, the only buyers will be ideological ones.

And, I don't think the chuds are enough to float

Oh well Elon, YOLO

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 week ago (2 children)

This is one of the things that pissed me off during the election campaign. Calling Trump "weird" worked as well, for all of a couple of weeks, and then the party muzzled Walz and never let anyone say it again.

They had an effective ad campaign that hit their opponents right where it hurt - their fragile ego - and they just...gave up.

Wow, maybe Elon is the only person capable of getting Republicans out of internal combustible engines and into electric cars. Welcome to Bizzaro World.

[–] [email protected] 60 points 1 week ago

Nothing. He's not used to consequences.

He also circulated a video taken by a customer in their new Cybertruck, writing, “Heartfelt thanks to everyone supporting @Tesla, despite many attacks against our stores and offices.”

that's the meltdown.

It's RollingStone, btw, whom Yahoo is reposting. This is the Nü "May be collapsing" headline the corporate news sewers need to push. They're desperate for someone or something to go down so they can claim victory.

Musk is going to walk away with billions stolen from taxpayers, and he's not 'melting down' for shit, he just Xitted something before dosing himself and it sounds vaguely like something a regular person might have said so they jumped on it.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (3 children)

Did you read the whole thing? He also accused wealthy liberals of financing Tesla protests including two that are dead, one for about 5 years. When one of those people told him he was full of it, he replied with:

Musk replied, “Describe your favorite island vacation,” baselessly implying that Hoffman had visited the Caribbean private island of the late sex trafficker and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

I don't know if I would all this a melt down, but it's not that far short of it.

Btw, Musk should be cautious with this kind of accusation these days considering that his buddy Donnie was a very good friend of Epstein.

Oh wow look taking hard political stances is actually bad for business. A fact known for pretty much all of time. I wonder how the self proclaimed genius didn't see this coming.

[–] [email protected] 36 points 1 week ago (8 children)

Wow, the president is really scared, he even had to call trump for a photo op in front of a Tesla

trump had to stop golfing after the president called him for promoting sales of Tesla

Cool. I cant wait for Tesla shareholders to file a class-action lawsuit for recklessly and negligently tanking the share price. Their portfolios have taken a significant hit, and it's directly attributable to his poor public behavior, as well as partnering up with the loudest anti-EV voice on the planet. They have easily demonstrable damages, and it would be an easy case to win. I'll bet there are numerous lawyers lining up their cases right now.

AND, its just a matter of time before the Tesla board fires him as CEO. He can wreck the government and Tesla, or he can run Tesla, but he cant do both.

In an IDEAL world, Musk will be removed as CEO for both failure to perform (he's literally not doing his job given that he's doing all his DOGshitE) and the harm he's bringing to the brand. No other CEO would be allowed to get away with this.

Then, in a JUST world the stock will stabilize, start to grow again, and everyone will get back on the EV train with Tesla included. While the Muskrat watches from the sidelines like the loser he is.

CAVEAT: only if he also doesn't still own any more of the stock than he could get owning VTSAX like the rest of us.

[–] [email protected] 36 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Maybe its a bit of a spicy take... but honestly, I'd be okay with this being a death spiral for tesla. They played their role in getting EVs into the mainstream, now let their figurative head rot on a pike as a warning that letting a shithead nazi helm your company is an existential mistake, and not just a bump in the road.

Easy come, easy go. I think it was pretty obvious from the start that the richest man on Earth was balancing on a bloated balloon.

He's still filthy rich from the payouts he took along the way, but I guess he will soon feel the interests of the Twitter loans piercing into his actual assets.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is the true face of Musk, who is stuck perpetually in the mindset of a melodramatic 15 y/o.

Yet the Tesla brand has also become uniquely toxic since Musk swept into Washington, gave what was widely recognized as a Nazi salute at an inauguration event

Good to see the mainstream media finally (sort of) calling this what it was instead of tiptoeing around it

Man. Poor guy. Really gotta feel for the nazi billionaires trying to destroy the world when their feefees get hurt. Chin up, champ!

To calm himself from the meltdown, I suggest he ups his dose of ketamine and then pisses blood.

Alternatively, self-immolation is always an option, and ethically correct in his situation.
