Share a story, ask a question, or start a conversation about (almost) anything you desire. Maybe you'll make some friends in the process.

RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on [email protected]
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

Dude was like a pillar of the lemmy community and I believe a mod as well. I haven't seen him in weeks. Hopefully he's doing ok.

You never know what's happening in folks' real life.

Real life happens, often so seriously and so fast that you don't have time or effort to post online for significant stretches.

Hell, he might even be in the hospital, he had a history of difficult medical issues.

We can always hope for the best of the folks we lose track of online, but it's not unlike that meme about your old gaming friends.

Here's hoping everything is going okay not just for @[email protected] but for everyone who disappears from our community.

I like them apples, all right.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

Applesauce, bitch

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

In case you missed it, he's fine, he's just not here.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

Please take a second to browse [email protected] , it's topical =(

[–] [email protected] 56 points 4 months ago (3 children)

Probably busing after relocating to the UK

[–] [email protected] 20 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I hope that his lord fixed the elevator in his building

[–] [email protected] 29 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (3 children)

I know you (probably) meant landlord, but your typo cracked me up. I shall now go pray to my elevator gods for continued ascension.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Personally I took it to mean a feudal lord, it's both sad and funny that way.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 months ago

That works too. Feudal lords are the new slumlords, but also the OG slumlords.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

Nice one ha ha

Don’t forget to do your daily ritual so that the elevator machine spirit is in good mood. Please ask for your nearest Tech Priest for assistance.

If I remember correctly, he moved to the UK relatively recently, and I believe I remember him later making some comment about it being important to get a job.

If that's correct, he may be busy with getting a job in a new country. If he does need to do that, probably best not to push him to sink time on modding, since I suspect that he may be pretty tied up; real-life stuff should probably take priority.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 4 months ago

Ah yeah that's two life changes in one bundle. No doubt he's busy as shit. I'm glad to hear this.

a pillar of the lemmy community

A negative one that brought only Reddit energy and vibe to this place

[–] [email protected] 20 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yeah I didn't know he was gone, I blocked him awhile ago for being a complete fucking dick.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Same. I contacted him during his recent online mental crisis. He never wrote back so I took a few minutes to check his post history to see if he was alive. Dude is toxic AF. I added him to my block list shortly thereafter.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

FS was the most annoying reddit person on here, besides maybe PugJesus.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Didn't they say they went out for cigarettes?

[–] [email protected] 31 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Interesting, he told me it was for milk.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 4 months ago

Get out of that chair! You're not my real @[email protected]! My real @[email protected] is gonna be back any minute now and then you'll be out of here, Frank!!!

[–] [email protected] 33 points 4 months ago

I think they went on walkabout. Last time I saw them was posting about European power outlets.

Probably enjoying some irl time.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Good? He was a huge asshole, who regularly banned people for disagreeing with him or his extreme bullshit views. He was also famous for trying to lord over people about being a mod if losing a discussion...

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 months ago (1 children)

His instance .world has some strict/stupid rules, which he did enforce. I didn't like it either but instead of blaming the messenger I simply left .world.

Could have just taken a break from Lemmy to focus on life stuff. Those stats for comments and post in 1.8y takes a lot of time and energy.

Hope they are doing well also.

"How can anybody eat at a time like this? The FlyingSquid is missing! Bush, SEARCH PARTY of three!"

[–] [email protected] 22 points 4 months ago

Dude escaped fasclsm! I am both proud and envious! God speed!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

Know what. I was never a big fan of how they interacted and conducted themselves on Lemmy, but reading that gave me a little more respect for the guy.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 4 months ago

It's been quite peaceful actually

[–] [email protected] 17 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I blocked them a long time ago. I didn't even notice that they were gone.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Dude tried to ban me for saying Bibi was abusing the Jewish faith to genocide Muslims.

Idk about fuck him entirely, but I didn't need his Zionist ass in my feed.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago (1 children)

There is a large section of the Jewish community who believe you shouldn't be allowed to kill innocent.

No I'm not him before anyone asks, this has been my screen name on other platforms for close to a decade.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It’s kinda weird that it’s just a large section lol

This subject was brought up earlier this week on the Star Trek shitposting community that they frequented. No definitive answer.

I saw him post at least 1 comment yesterday, but has deleted it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Anyone making 10 posts a day for over a year should probably definitely take a step back from lemmy

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

He joined in June '23 after the reddit API debacle, along with many of us. 4610 posts + 67178 comments over 20 months comes out to 120 posts and comments per day, every day, for over a year and a half. A true addict, one that puts the rest of us addicts to shame.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I have it on good authority that he's fine, he's just not here.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 months ago

Do you have a picture of him with todays Wordle

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Can jordenlund be next?
