What is fundamentally wrong with these people?
What is it that they actually want?
It seems like they don't want anyone except themselves to exist. That's clearly not a realistic thing that is going to happen and they're inexplicably angry about it. All the time. One might as well go through life wishing that the colour green doesn't exist.
They want these groups to exist, so that there's a class of people that they can feel superior to
But once society starts even slightly addressing the inequality in the most minor ways, they're terrified that their 'superiority' is at risk and they can't cope with that
To a certain extent, I don't even think it's that. I think they are annoyed that instead of organically tying characters to different thoughts and different views, it just gets shoehorned in. I think it's the same sort of thing when they have to throw an awkward trope or a love interest into a game where it doesn't benefit the story by any means. I think a majority of these people feel that instead of organically tying these characters in, they are worried about Sony shoe-horning in what they consider woke/PC culture into something just for the sake of being woke/PC.
That said, I really hope that they continue to show people of different views, ideas, and lifestyles in games, as "demystifying" the perspectives and lives of marginalized groups typically changes how people perceive these others outside of their typical worldview.

Conservative thought is that hierarchy in society is good and natural... so long as you allow it to develop organically. "Wokeness" is an attempt to "subvert" the "natural hierarchy", which is clearly why things are going wrong in society.
Long story short, some podcast bro told them that shit is bad cause woke and they didn't put even an iota of additional thought into that.

These are satirical/ironic. It's a joke, probably fair to call it a circlejerk but it's mostly self-perpetuating at this point. "Gamer, rise up!" and "I'm sure everyone will have pronouns as well" are the main giveaways. The last one I'm less sure about because the punchline is weak but I would still guess it isn't sincere.
I used to believe like you. That these were just trolls. Otherwise reasonable people having a laugh. Good times all around.
And then the election happened. So now I'm no longer sure that the world is full of mostly reasonable people. And I believe at least half of these people are actually like this.
It could be, but I've seen what seems to be genuinely held beliefs that look identical to these.it turns out these very fragile snowflakes actually exist too, to the detriment of us all.

I have a friend who didn't use pronouns when talking to or about others for a while. Turns out they were struggling with their own gender identity and they started using pronouns again once they figured themselves out.
This was a heartwarming and satisfying story arc.

I recently got Lunacid, a RPG that takes inspiration from Kings Field and Shadow Tower lineage made by a solo dev. It's a great game I suggest you pick it up btw.
It has pronouns selector in character creation with some zhe/zher stuff. It has no affect on any in game dialog or stats. The dev put it in just to get people like this upset. I didn't realize this until I looked in the steam community discussions and saw the amount of people seething about it with the devs themselves taunting them in the comments.
The amount of people who genuinely get hot and bothered by this was surprising to me. I'm not really a gender identity orientated person so its not something I feel strongly about but I understand its important for some and just picked my prefered ones then moved on with the game. I respect the power move making bigoted chuds and squares salty at the cost of some sales.
